While On Look Films pursues further funding, adhan unification may be taking place! Anna will be in Cairo researching the status of the unification plan, developing relationships with characters and crew and setting up base camp. She will also be gathering some footage to be used in the feature.

          An innocent children’s game of war goes awry, opening up a lens into the psyche of a 7-year-old boy, a 1st generation Mexican-American, whose father served as a soldier in Iraq. Shot on location in Chicago’s culturally rich neighborhood of Pilsen, the film raises questions about war, immigration and society’s perception of peace. The film recently won the highly competitive 2009 IFP Production Fund; a $100,000 grant worth of in-kind goods and services.

            Over the course of four days, On Look Films hosted events throughout Chicago. The weekend was filled with live music featuring Chicago's gypsy-inspired Baxtalo Trio and experimental project the Electric Catfish, a film screening featuring seven international independent filmmakers currently based in Chicago, an art exhibition and auction featuring 72 works on paper, a raffle with amazing prizes and celebrations held at Chicago's landmark neighborhood pubs! Events took place at SmallBar, Elastic Arts Foundation, The Shire Public House and an independent art space in River West. Check out the pictures here!
